“My paintings capture moments from life—in time and physical space.”

Erica Vhay

Oils that depict the graphic nature of our society, or the fleeting moments of our daily lives…..bold strokes of color explode on the canvases.

In 1970, Erica was born into a family of artists and architects. Her great grandfather, Gutzon Borglum, and his son, Lincoln Borglum, were famous for sculpting Mt. Rushmore and many other works of art. She attended the University of Oregon, graduating with a degree in ceramics and a focus on drawing, printmaking and sculpture. Erica’s early career in graphic design can be seen in the graphic quality and composition of her work. In 2001, Erica turned her sights to painting – focusing mainly on figurative and abstract work. Erica currently lives in Flagstaff, Az with her husband and two boys.
